The Flight:
We don't normally write about the various flights we take but this trip warrants an exception as it was definitely part of
the holiday. We flew to Kuala Lumpur via Singapore with Singapore
Airlines who are definitely one of the best airlines that we have flown with. It was an overnight flight that arrived the
following morning and we would normally have tried to get some sleep during this flight but there was just so much to do that we
stayed awake throughout the entire 14½ hour flight.
Our multi-purpose entertainments control panel.
The reverse side was a credit card phone. |
Each seat was equipped with its own personal entertainment system centred around a 6" LCD screen on which we could
watch any of 13 movie channels showing recent blockbusters, old classics and children's films. There were also 9 other video
channels showing comedy, news, sport, childrens programmes, documentaries and our flight path. If that wasn't enough, the video
control panel was actually a Nintendo® games console which we could use to play any of 10 Nintendo® games or 5 PC games.
With almost 50 hours of video entertainment, there just wasn't enough time to seriously play these games but on our return flight
we had an entire row of seats to ourselves which meant that we had two consoles each so that we could play games on one and watch
films on the other!
